How to Make Your Own Fossils
You and your little archaeologist will love searching for different items to make fossil prints with. Let your creativity run wild as you dig in and make your very own unique fossils!
What You’ll Need:
½ cup flour
½ cup used coffee grounds
¼ cup salt
¼ cup sand
Water
Fossil objects such as: sea shells, leaf, feather, toy dinosaurs, rocks, pine needles, ferns/foliage, cleaned bones (left over from chicken or meat)
1. Mix together all of the dry ingredients.
2. Add the water a little at a time until you have a thick dough-like consistency.
3. Flatten the dough to about an inch thick, and break the dough into the desired sizes.
4. Choose the objects you want to make into fossils and carefully press them into the dough.
5. Let your fossil dry completely and then share or display your findings!
